The recent Ted Ryan Challenge held just outside Clonmel has been hailed as a huge success for the Unit with the 3rd Scout troop taking top honours while the 13th came in third and the 7th came fourth. Three troops from the Unit coming in the top four places is a great demonstration of the strength of the scout sections as well as the commitment of the scouts and the leaders. Paschal Guilfoyle, Scoutleader of the 3rd expressed his delight at the result which was acheived under tough conditions. The team from the 3rd was led by Paul McSweeney and Derek Ryan and the rest of the patrol consisted of Patrick Kelly, Brian Brazil, Conor Walsh, Ian Fitzek, John Cummins, Conor Dempsey, Kieran Gleeson, Philip Hearn and Mark Doyle.

The team from the 13th consisted of Brian Casey, Paul Cunningham, Matthew Burgess, Conor O’Shea, Michael Flynn, Jason Power and Dwayne Lonergan. The team from the 7th was made up of Owen Griffin, Gavin Cooke, James White, Cormac Donnelly, Dylan Lumley, Shane Cooke, Gary Deasy and Peter Murphy.
