The De La Salle Scout Group launched its first website in March 1997 after Liam Butler the Unit Leader at the time asked Assistant Scoutleader Colm Ennis to look into it at a Unit Council in December 1996.

It started small, simple and originally had to be manually coded on a Windows 95 PC with HTML but over the past fifteen years the website has gone on to lead the way in Ireland as Group website. It has also gone through a variety of facelifts and changes but has always relied on good quality content and photos to keep the Group’s members and supporters informed about what’s going on in one of Ireland’s oldest, largest and most active Scout Groups.

In recent years a lot of content is also being channeled through our Facebook page, twitter feed, youtube channel and Flickr account so this new blog based website and social media hub will bring all of those channels together in one place. The new website has been designed by Laura Russell from iownthesun.net with input by Sean O’Griofa and Colm Ennis. All of the content from the old website has been archived off for now but some of it will reappear as historical blog posts in the coming months.

Thanks to Laura, Sean and Colm for all of their work on getting our new site up and running and to Emily Ennis for her work on the Flickr account. The next step is up to the Group members. We need your logs, stories, blogs, tweets, facebook comments, pictures, instagram photos youtube videos and your energy to bring this site alive!
