The De La Salle Scout Group Pipe Band played an important part in this year’s Waterford Christmas Charity Massed Bands Concert which was held on Friday the 14th of December last at the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly. Waterford has a fine tradition of Concert, brass, Pipes and Flute bands and to have the Waterford City Pipe Band, De la Salle Scout Pipe Band, City of Waterford Brass, Barrack Street Concert Band and Thomas Francis Meagher Fife and Drum band at the same venue was a great treat. In addition there was music by special guests Vanessa and Caroline Sadlier, Dick Hayes, David Flynn, the Ursuline School Choir, Mercy School Senior Choir and the String section of WIT music department. It was a wonderful evening with top class stirring entertainment including the finale when all the bands joined into a spectacular massed band to play a piece specially selected for the night.
